Your Sample Itinerary

Three people lounging in the blue waters of Lake Mackenzie

Lake Mackenzie

The absolute jewel and most renowned lake of over 40, Lake Boorangoora (Mackenzie) is simply stunning. With dual-toned aquamarine and lapis hues and crystal clear freshwaters, be swept away into a natural oasis as soon as you dive in. Dig your toes into the sand-lined shores, look out at the vibrant rainforest across the lake and breathe in the serenity. Ahh… this is what paradise looks like!

Sunset Maheno Shipwreck

Maheno Shipwreck

With a rich and mysterious nautical history, visit the ocean shores of K’gari and spot the must-see SS Maheno Shipwreck. Washed up over 50 years ago, grab a picture and soak in some charming sailing tales illuminated by your guide! If you listen closely, you can picture the Maheno in all of her glory, sailing across oceans and tides… or was that just the wind?

A woman and friends on floaty mattresses in Eli Creek

Eli Creek

Let your worries float away as you literally float down the drinkable waters of Eli Creek. This unique stream fringed by eucalypts bush pushes thousands of litres of freshwater out to sea every day, and is the perfect place to grab an inflatable and drift away! Soak up the tranquillity and enchantment in this special part of K’gari, as you relax, play and take in the wonders of Eli Creek!

Lake Wabby with sand, forest and green waters

Lake Wabby

Rich with Indigenous history and significance, wander over sand dunes to the verdant waters of Lake Wabby. The contrast of landscapes here is simply astounding, so stop at the crescent-shaped, bright green lake and gaze out at the Hammerstone Sandblow for a seriously mesmerising insight into K’gari’s peculiar beauty.

A group of backpackers swimming in the Champagne Pool rockpool

Champagne Pools

Take a bubbly soak in mother nature’s very own spa baths at Champagne Pools! Aptly named, these rock pools trap the ocean’s fizzy seawater when the tide is right, making for a relaxing and safe day at the beach.

A group of people on a fourwheel drive on sand in the forest

4WD down 75 Mile Beach

Your guide will show you the ins and outs of four-wheel driving so you can partake in an iconic Aussie pastime! Take the wheel and glide over sandy K’gari beaches, spotting dingoes and gorgeous marine life along the way. And don’t worry about getting bogged; your guide will be there to help you with all of the nitty gritty!

Two people in beach chairs on the beach next to a tent

Beachside Camping

Your accommodation for two nights is situated on a gorgeous bit of beach, away from the hustle, so you can hear the crash of the waves and wake up to island sunrises! Your tents and dwellings are all set up before you arrive, so rest easy and don’t worry about forgetting the pegs! With awesome campfire convos and all meals included, let the good times roll as you live the Aussie good life on K’gari!

As this is an authentic camping experience, daily swims in the freshwater lakes replace the need to shower on this epic adventure! Plus fresh drinking water is provided!

Group of people partying

Koala Bar Afterparty

John our tour guide, 11/10! He was amazing, always upbeat, full of facts and never showed stress even after one bogged car, one dead car and a lightening storm to trail us back to shore! The places we got to visit were amazing and this was really the redeeming parts to the trip!

Fraser is defenetly something you have to see once in your life. Clear blue water, driving over sand, .... The food was very good and also the Camping. But maybe one tour guide for 30 people is a bit less.

9/10 loved every second apart from Lake Wabbie, walk in the heat was far too long and ended up being a fish infested muddy puddle next to a dessert. Loved our tour guide Matt, brought all the banter and also broke the ice on our first day! All the locations were great and the car experience amaze!
