Fly into the Gold Coast and hit the ground running! A vibrant, beachside party town, embark on your East Coast Tour in the heart of paradise. And understandably, the first thing you’ll need to know is how to get around after you land. Luckily, there is plenty of accessible transport to get you from A to B, wherever that may be!
The easiest way to get around from the Gold Coast Airport is with the Gold Coast bus system, a rideshare service like Uber or DiDi, or a shuttle bus.
Walk out of the airport and hop on the 777 bus towards Broadbeach South Station, then transfer to the 705 bus to Remembrance Dr at Bruce Bishop Car Park, putting you in the heart of Surfers Paradise! All up, this journey will take you about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on when you land. Or, alternatively, hop on the Broadbeach South Station to Cavill Avenue station tram for your second leg, arriving every 5 minutes. Don’t forget to grab your GoCard, and tap on and off on all busses, trains and trams while you’re in QLD!
Another good option for getting around the Gold Coast is the widely-used selection of rideshare services. Both Uber and DiDi are widely used around the inner Gold Coast area, and can be really convenient and often affordable options. A great option for those travelling in a group, as most apps offer a split fare tool, making your trip far more affordable. We recommend downloading the apps and setting up your Uber and/or DiDi accounts for easy, last-minute means of getting around.
Grab a ticket for a city shuttle bus to transport you into the centre of Surfers Paradise, or your chosen accommodation. Offering both one-way and return tickets, we recommend Con-X-ion busses. Available for both pre-booking and available for purchase as you land in Gold Coast, we recommend pre-booking to save and ensure an easy trip. Travel in comfort as you hop on your shuttle awaiting you outside of the airport, and remember to provide your student card details to receive a great discount!
