Make A Splash In Lake MackenziePlay mermaid in the turquoise and indigo freshwaters of Lake Boorangoora (Lake Mackenzie)... trust us, you’ve never swam in waters like this! Lake Mackenzie looks like a beach, with bright white sands and brilliant blue waters, however, it’s actually all fresh water. Undeniably K’gari’s prized jewel, cool off and gaze out at the surrounding forests as you soak up the magic in this stunning spot! |
|
Dip In Champagne Pools & Catch A View At Tukee WarooHead up to the Champagne Pools, also referred to as Mother Nature’s bubble bath! These rock pools are pretty unique, in that the rolling sea water produces bubbles, not unlike those in a spa. So, grab your mates and treat yourself to a natural spa day… there are no beauty secrets here, just good old-fashioned ocean magic! Then, climb up to the Tukee Waroo (Indian Head) Lookout for rolling views of the whole K’gari coastline. Seriously c’est magnifique! |
|
Discover Lake Wabby, Eli Creek & Basin LakeGo further and marvel at some quieter, hidden K’gari gems! Lake Wabby, a deep emerald, sand-lined lake, is a sight to behold! Neighbouring the Hammerstone Sandblow and known for its bright verdant tones, Lake Wabby has a rich Indigenous history. Stop off for a float down Eli Creek, a stunning, crystal-clear freshwater stream leading to the ocean. Don’t miss Basin Lake, one of K’gari’s local favourites. Aquamarine waters, white sands and gorgeous surrounding forests make up the landscape here, so shoes off and dive in for a refreshing swim! |
|
Snap Photos Of Historical Maheno ShipwreckThe mysterious and marvellous SS Maheno Shipwreck is the perfect place to snap a few unique shots and learn about a rich nautical history! The vessel graced K’gari’s shores over 70 years ago and has been a stunning destination ever since. Simply beautiful at sunrise and sunset, sit on the dunes and imagine the crew's happenings on her last voyage! |

Yes, and it is recommended to bring your own refillable water bottle. There is a water refill station on the bus, and there is fresh drinking water at K'gari Beach Resort.
Travellers are allowed to bring up to 2 bags, weighing 25kg total. We recommend bringing a small day bag to keep with you on the bus, and you can store a larger bag in the cargo hold below.
It is recommended to start and end your tour at the same location in Rainbow Beach. Each K'gari Explorer tour runs a different itinerary based on the tides, so if you were to swap tours in the hopes of returning to Hervey Bay or elsewhere, you may end up repeating some activities.

You must bring your own forward-facing car seat for all children under age 7.

Great!!! The best ever outdoor experience. The 4 wheel drive bus was very confortable, the food and beer in the accomandation also very good. The best experience would be the driver or tour guide's introduction around the island. Thumbs up!!!

It was a quickstep from 1 place to another. In fact you Come several times on the same place. Our first stop was at a lake and because we were on a bus with people who booked only 1 day we could go to the lake for 25 minutes, than Come back to put our luggage to the other bus and go back to the lake

The tour was great, however not quite what was advertised. The website said it would be an intimate tour with less than 24 people. The first bus we were on had 40 people on, and the second bus had 30+.

What a fantastic experience. Both tour guides, Keith and Dave were friendly from the get go. Lake McKenkie, Eli Ck, Champagne Pools, Maheno Wreck, totally amazing! A close encounter with Dingos, was ost for words. Saw Manta Rays, Whales and Dolphins. All that & great weather made a memorable 2 days.

We had a great time on our tour. The food and accommodation provided was great especially the showers - they were a real treat after the day travelling and swimming. Toni was our tour guide and would also giver her 5 stars, she was extremely knowledgeable, kind and caring.

The whole trip was fantastic. The weather stayed fine enough that we did not miss a beat. The commentary from the drivers was excellent. Murray, in particular was just a mine if information. The accommodation and meals was also top grade. I am 78, and K'Gari has been on my bucket list for ages.

Excellent! So much fun, John our driver was extremely knowledgeable about history, vegetation, fauna and general knowledge of the island. Thoroughly recommend the tour.
Excellent, informative guides. All round brillance but overshadowed by the island itself and the wildlife
