This unique, locally run trip will show you the heart of Australian surf culture with sun-soaked days and the wide open road ahead. Learn from experienced surf instructors, travel consciously and appreciate the magic of Australia’s natural environment and Indigenous culture!

Welcome!Brisbane - Byron Bay Meet your group and group leader in Brisbane (meanjin), where the adventure begins! Board the bus and begin the journey to Byron Bay, passing through the iconic Gold Coast along the way. Continue the journey to Byron Bay where you can explore this chilled-out bohemian town to your heart’s content! |

Byron Babin’!Byron Bay - Yamba Wake up sunny and fresh, ready to get in the water! After a coffee and breakfast, dive into your lesson with industry-leading Black Dog Surf School. You’ll be out at the long point break at The Pass, a local favourite. Then continue to the peaceful coastal town of Yamba, well off the beaten backpacker track! |

Get Into The Surf RhythmYamba - Red Rock You’re in the swing of things now, as you head out for another lesson, this one with Yamba-Angourie Surf School. Now, you’ll start to see your technique and confidence in the water seriously developing! You’re in for a coastal adventure today, with plenty of time in Yamba and its stunning natural surroundings. |

Learn From The BestRed Rock - Scotts Head Wake up with the birds to catch a glorious sunrise over the ocean. Keep your eyes peeled, you may spot some native wildlife. After a healthy breakfast, mosey on to Scotts Head, where world tour surfer Trent Munro will take you out for your lesson today! |

Coastal Towns AboundScotts Head - Seal Rocks After a bright and early breakfast and coffee, head on down to a renowned long-point break in Crescent Head. Then, after a stellar surf, hop back in the bus and jet to Seal Rocks, a bit of a hidden gem and one of the most gorgeous spots. Overall, a day of crystal-clear blue waters and rolling breaks! |

Sydneyside FarewellsSeal Rocks - Sydney Revel in a slow morning in your campsite, over a final fresh breakfast. Then, pack up and hop in the van for the last leg of your journey! Reach Sydney where you and your fellow surfers will be dropped off at your respective hostels. Say ciao and swap socials to keep in touch with you’re newly made travelling friends! |

All trips on the Australian Surf Bus are now being carbon offset with the help of non-for-profit Reforest Now. For each customer that purchases a spot with Australian Surf Bus, a native Australian species will be planted to offset that person's emissions. We only need 28 customers to totally offset the emissions from the bus using this method!
The Surf Bus is designed for beginner to intermediate surfers.
If you have never surfed in your life, this is the perfect trip for you! Or, if you have some surfing experience but want to hone in on your technique through daily classes and video technique analysis, this trip is ideal.
Yes, you are required to organise your own travel insurance prior to this trip.
Yes, all travellers must be able to swim confidently to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everybody.
Travellers are asked to leave their boards at home and use the gear provided.
Your guide has a trusty wet-weather plan to ensure this trip goes ahead in most situations.
Yes, each and every campsite has Wifi available.
A moderate level of fitness is recommended for this experience. With daily surfing lessons and guided walks, this trip is best enjoyed if you are relatively active.
Yes! A light, healthy breakfast and dinner is provided daily. Feel free to bring and/or purchase your own lunches and snacks.
Due to the health and wellbeing-centred nature of this trip, travellers are asked to leave the booze at home. No BYO alcohol.
