Depart Cairns and cruise to Green Island
Board the Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises vessel and enjoy a scenic cruise across the Coral Sea. The spacious catamaran has plenty of seating areas to relax in the sunshine or in the air-conditioning. The staff will give a reef presentation and snorkelling instruction on the boat on the way to the island so you're prepared for your arrival. |

5 hours at Green Island
Once you arrive at Green Island, you have 5 hours to enjoy this stunning location. You can relax, swim, or sunbathe at postcard-worthy beaches with soft white sand. Or you can stroll through lush rainforest trails, or check out the Green Island Resort. Green Island is an amazing place, and you're free to spend your time here however you choose. |

Snorkelling in the Great Barrier ReefThis tour includes your snorkel gear so you can easily explore the Great Barrier Reef! Green Island is situated right on top of the famous reef, so you can enjoy some world-class snorkelling right off the island. Marvel at the unique corals and tropical fish, and keep your eyes peeled for sea turtles! After 5 hours at Green Island you'll hop back on the boat and return to Cairns. |

FAQs
Where is check-in for this tour?
Check-in starts at the Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises desk inside the Reef Fleet Terminal at 1 Spence Street, Cairns. Please check-in 30 minutes prior to your departure time.
Can I book return transfers from my accommodation?
Return transfers are not included in the price, but they can be booked for an additional cost. Please enquire upon booking!
How long does it take to get to Green Island from Cairns?
Full day tours departing at 9:00am travel on the catamaran and take about 1 hour 15 minutes to get to Green Island.
Does Green Island have wheelchair-friendly facilities?
Depending on the tides, it may be necessary to board and disembark the boat from different levels. Please note that the bathrooms on the boat are not wheelchair accessible, but there are disabled facilities on Green Island. These guidelines apply to standard wheelchairs only. Big Cat are unfortunately unable to accommodate electric wheelchairs on any vessels or coaches.
Can I book this tour if I'm not a confident swimmer?
Flotation/buoyancy vests are available for hire at the Green Island Dive Shop for use whilst swimming and snorkelling. There is also a lifeguard patrolled beach, so it is best to swim between the red and yellow flags to ensure there is also someone watching out.
Is Green Island suitable for families with young children?
Green Island is a great option for families of all ages. As the island is relatively flat, and has paved pathways and boardwalks, it is suitable for prams and wheelchairs alike. There is also a lifeguard patrolled beach, making it safe for children and first time snorkellers to swim.
Is there shade on Green Island?
Yes there is plenty of shade on Green Island! The island has an abundant rainforest with trees for shade, as well as umbrellas around the visitor pool and more for hire on the lifeguard patrolled beach.
What is included in this tour?
This tour includes round trip catamaran transfers from Cairns to Green Island, as well as snorkel equipment for you to use on the island. Optional activities can be pre-booked or purchased on the day!
