Lake Mackenzie Drone Shot with trees, blue water and sand

Lake Mackenzie Swims

You may have seen Instagram reels of the sparkling, dual-toned Lake Boorangoora (Mackenzie) waters. Well, it’s time to make your feed a reality and dive into the sapphire and turquoise pool located in central K’gari. While it may feel like you’re at the beach with soft white sand in between your toes, this gorgeous spot is actually a freshwater lake. Mother nature really turned it on at Lake Boorangoora!

Blue bus on the shores of K'gari (Fraser Island)

Four-wheel Drive Down 75 Mile Beach

Your friendly local guide will take you up and down the golden sands of K’gari in a spacious 4WD cruiser bus! Your blue chariot awaits, so hop on and gaze out at the rolling shores and beachside dingoes on the way to your next dreamy destination! You may even make your next backpacking friend during the journey... who knows!

Maheno Shipwreck close up at Sunrise covered in sand

Snap Some Shots of the Maheno Shipwreck

A historical wonder amongst the enchanting nature, the SS Maheno Shipwreck is a truly marvellous sight! The vessel washed up in the mid-1950s following a cyclone on her last journey from Japan to Melbourne. The result? A totally ethereal beach landmark! Set behind a glowing sunset, the SS Maheno’s rich nautical history is tangible! Was that the wind, or the captain shouting “anchor’s away”? Find out for yourself on the shores of K’gari!

Woman with blond hair and white hat walking down the knee deep Eli Creek Water next to green trees

Float Away Down Eli Creek

Eli Creek is where you’ll truly kick your heels up and revel in your K’gari holiday! This clear, cool, sparkling water is an exquisite place to hang out and chill out. Grab an inflatable and float down the winding stream, canopied by stunning eucalypts and sandy flora. This dazzling creek uniquely connects to the ocean, gushing over 80 million litres of freshwater into the salty K’gari sea every day!

A group of people walking through the green Central Station

Dingos, Rainforest, Delicious Food & More!

Hike through ancient, sandy rainforests in Central Station as you marvel at gigantic, towering satinays, eucalypts and tallowwoods. Rub shoulders with the local wongari, commonly referred to as dingoes - the furry K’gari icon. Dine in at an island resort and fill up on a scrumptious lunch spread. Revel in salty swims, lap up your local guide's insightful island knowledge and have a total blast in tropical paradise! What more is there to say?

The experience was really awesome with Keith, it made the trip very real and authentic. It left us a very good impression of the island, he shared all of his knowledge with us about the people who used to live here for centuries and the ones still living on it these day. Thanks again Keith !

We absolutely loved our day on K’Gari. Kev was an excellent guide, full of useful information and very clear with timings etc, and we felt like we got to see a lot of the island without it feeling rushed. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is short on time as a great way to take in best bits

We loved the trip without the worry about taking our own vehicle. We had adequate time at each stop. Lunch was delicious however with the price we paid it would have be nice not to pay extra for a soft drink. We appreciated that there was no welcome to country, just some aboriginal information.

Our day was wonderful . Keith the guide was so knowledgeable, he made the whole experience enjoyable . We had our two boys with us who took turns to ride up front and we never heard the word 'bored' . Recommend it to anyone. Nick & Esther
