Embark on the ultimate Aussie adventure with a 3-day tag-along camping safari on K’gari! Have 3 days to explore the world’s largest sand island and see highlights like Lake McKenzie, Central Station, Maheno Shipwreck, Champagne Pools, and more. 

Because it’s a tag-along tour, you’ll also have the opportunity to drive one of the provided 4WDs on 75 Mile Beach if you wish! For your 2 nights on K’gari, experience the beauty of the outdoors at a fully-equipped permanent campsite on the Eastern Beach.

  • Spend 3 days exploring World Heritage-listed K’gari by 4WD
  • See attractions such as Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek, Indian Head Lookout, and more
  • Sleep in a cozy tent and have campfires at a permanent campsite

  • Bring $2 coins for hot showers.
  • BYO – please come prepared with any alcohol you wish to bring with you before arriving to the safety briefing. NO GLASS is allowed on the island.

Important Information: 

  • To drive on Fraser with Dingos you MUST be 21 or over with a FULL manual licence. You must have held this license for a minimum of 1 year and you must have the license with you. Non-licensed drivers can travel but not drive, groups are assigned on this basis. 
  • You MUST attend the meeting at 7am the day of departure at Freedom Rainbow Beach 
  • Please note this tour is suitable for ages 18-35s ONLY
  • Tour may not be suitable if you have existing neck or back problems or are pregnant. Check with your agent to make sure this tour is suitable for you.
  • Customers who want to bring alcohol on tour will need to purchase it from Dingos licensed bar the night before the tour after the safety briefing

FAQs

Is there an age restriction for this tour?

This backpacker-style tour is recommended for travellers age 18-35. Check out our full list of family-friendly tours if you're looking to bring children to K'gari!

Are campfires allowed?

Campfires are generally not allowed on K'gari, but this tour stays at a secure, registered campsite that does allow campfires. You can purchase firewood at Freedom Hostel before you leave for $15 per bag. 

Can we bring alcohol?

Yes, this tour is BYO. Pre-mixed cans or beers are acceptable, but goon, hard liquor, and glass bottles are not allowed. 

What facilities are at the campsite?

The campsite has a kitchen/BBQ area, common area, flushing toilets, and hot showers that require a $2 coin. 

Are sleeping bags and pillows provided?

Yes, sleeping bags and pillows are provided for you at the campsite. 

Where can we store our extra bags and valuables while on tour?

There is luggage storage available at Freedom Hostel in Rainbow Beach, and you can store your valuables in a secure locker at the hostel. 

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?

Yes, just let us know upon booking. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, wheat or nut allergies, and lactose intolerant can all be catered for. 

Can I join this tour if I'm pregnant?

Yes, but you must have a doctor's note. The bumpy terrain on K'gari is often not suitable for those who are pregnant. 

Do I need to bring my own floatie for the visit to Eli Creek?

Nope, floates are provided for use during the trip

So much fun. The guide (Amie or Amy) with dingos was awesome. She was instructive and a ton of fun.
