Depart from Gold Coast into the hinterland

Be ready for your easy hotel pickup, preorganised with your experience provider. Your small shuttle will then take you from the Gold Coast (Southport, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach pick-ups available) through the Numinbah Valley, where beautiful green meadows and epic cliff faces fringe your drive to Springbrook National Park.

Waterfalls galore!

Throughout your day, you will encounter not one, not two, but five glimmering waterfalls in this World Heritage wonderland. The gem of the day is undeniably Purling Brook Falls; a grand fall nestled in the gorge and surrounded by tropical palms and eucalypts. Spot the Natural Arch Falls on your way in, a geological marvel where you can view the falls from inside a basalt cave for a spectacular experience! You will also see Twin Falls, Rainbow Falls and more of the quieter winding rivers.

Wander through 3000-year-old beech trees

The natural history of Springbrook National Park dates back to the ancient Gondwana times, with Antarctic beach trees dating back to up to 3000 years. Travel back in time as your local guide illuminates the epochs of these history-filled trunks, and take it the total serenity of walking through such special environments. Indeed, this is one of the few remaining pockets of lush Gondwana forest, so breathe it all in and explore this unique part of the world.

  • Our rainforest walks require a low to moderate degree of fitness and follows clearly marked paths and boardwalks. Enclosed shoes are recommended.
  • Southern Cross Tours may alter or cancel any section of the itinerary that may result from road closures, weather, suppliers or any other condition of an operational nature. Alternate vehicles may be used if a Southern Cross vehicle is unavailable.
  • Any person under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult 18+.
  • Infant age is 0-1 years. No food or beverage is included.
