This relaxed and beautiful day in Mother Nature’s playground is the perfect way to escape the city and learn about the ways of the Quandamooka people, the traditional owners of Minjerrabah. Keep your eyes out for thriving wildlife like coastal birds, dolphins, sharks and beach kangaroos, and enjoy a seamless day with return transfers and ferries all sorted!

Depart from Brisbane City & Ferry Cruise

Meet at your Roma St pickup point at 7 am for an included transfer out to the Stradbroke Ferry Terminal in the Redlands area. Or, opt to meet your group at 8 am at the Stradbroke Ferry Terminal if that’s more convenient for you (please ensure you’re on time). Then, board the spacious ferry and cruise across Moreton Bay Marine Park on the journey towards Minjerrebah. Watch the water for dolphin sightings, which are frequent in this pristine area!

Swim at Lake Bummiera (Brown Lake)

Your first stop is Lake Bummiera, a perched, freshwater lake known for its tannin-stained waters from the surrounding melaleuca trees. Relax on the shady shores, take a divine freshwater dip and take in the serenity at this beautiful, locally-favourited spot.

Amity Point and Cylinder Beach

From Lake Bummiera, jump in the 4WD and venture to the colourful township of Amity! Here, you will find a handful of quaint beachside cafes, local restaurants, fresh seafood and relaxed vibes. Enjoy a snack by the seaside and explore the headland before heading to Cylinder Beach. With crystal clear waters and endless sands, this beautiful surf and snorkel spot is the perfect place to embrace your inner mermaid and beach it up!

Flinders Beach

Your next tropical stop beckons as you make your way to Flinders Beach! Take in the breathtaking views of Moreton Island National Park and unwind. You can also spy the golden Big Sand Hills from certain vantage points that your knowledgeable guide will show you to!

Whale Walk at Point Lookout

Wander along the stunning coastal walkway known as Whale Walk at Point Lookout. During whale season (between May and November), spy Humpbacks breaching and playing in the warm Straddie waters. Keep your eyes peeled for other sea-dwelling creatures like dolphins, dugongs and manta rays as well! Return to the ferry, enjoy the views on the way back to the mainland, and board your return bus which will deliver you right into Brisbane City once again!

FAQs

Where and when does this tour depart from?

Your included return shuttle departs from Brisbane (Bus Stop 125, Roma Street) at 7:00 am. You can also meet your tour group at the Stradbroke Ferry Terminal if that is more convenient for you, at 8:00 am. Please arrive 15 minutes early at your pick-up point. Please reconfirm your pick-up point and time with the operator prior to your tour.

What is the minimum age for this trip?

The minimum age for this tour is 5 years.

What should I pack for the day?

Keep your small day bag light, and please bring swimmers, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes.

Will I get seasick?

The Stradbroke Ferry is very cruisy and smooth, however if you are prone to seasickness, consider taking some over-the-counter medication before the ferry to ensure a worry-free day!

When will I see whales around Strabroke?

Whale Season around the Moreton Bay and Brisbane region is between late-May and early-November. Stradbroke Island is a renowned Whale Watching destination on the East Coast, so keep your eyes peeled!
