Board the ferry to Moreton Island

After travelling from your accommodation in Brisbane to the Tangalooma Wharf at 220 Holt Street, Pinkenba, QLD, it's time to begin your day! The ferry terminal is located about 40 minutes outside the Brisbane CBD. Check in starts at 6:30am so you have time to get your tickets, board the ferry, and be settled in for a 7:30am departure to Moreton Island! With plenty of seating, sweeping views of Moreton Bay, and a bar area where you can buy snacks and drinks, you're fully equipped for a relaxing ride. At 8:45am, you'll arrive at the jetty in front of Tangalooma Island Resort on Moreton Island.

Choose your activities

This Tangalooma Wrecks Adventure Tour allows you to choose three activities for the day. Your choices are a beach segway tour, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, snorkelling, guided snorkel tour at Tangalooma Wrecks, sea scooter safari, fishing, or a sightseeing cruise. Additional add-ons are available as well such as glass-bottom boat tours and parasailing. So whether you want to explore the goldens sands of Moreton Island or venture into the underwater world nearby, you have plenty of options!

Natural beauty of Moreton Island

No matter what activities you choose, Moreton Island's stunning landscapes will surely blow you away. On land, you can explore pristine, untouched beaches slathered with soft sand and framed by lush rainforests. The calm, clear ocean provides perfect conditions for spotting marine life while snorkelling or kayaking. The Tangalooma Wrecks, a man-made collection of shipwrecks offshore from Moreton Island, are a vibrant haven of coral reefs and sea creatures. This tropical paradise is one of the best islands to visit in Queensland!

Head back to Brisbane

Around 3:30pm, head over to the ferry departure zone and get ready for a 4:00pm ferry departure. After an exciting day on Moreton Island, you're probably looking forward to a peaceful ferry ride back to Brisbane. Be sure to soak in one last view of the gorgeous island oasis as you cruise across Moreton Bay into Tangalooma Wharf. You'll arrive home around 5:15pm, leaving you time to make your way back to Brisbane and begin the night's festivities!

Important Information

  • All activities are subject to weather and tidal conditions. 
  • If you are pregnant, participating in any water sports will require a doctor's approval in writing. Please bring a medical certificate with you on the day, or email through prior to arrival.
  • Upon arriving at the resort, you must fill in an indemnity form and leave a $50 pre-authorisation deposit. This is done for your convenience to eliminate further paperwork and deposits during the day. Pre-authorisations are frozen in your bank account and will be released within five to ten business days after your trip to Moreton Island.
