Your Sample Itinerary

Babinda Boulders

Depart Cairns and head to your first stop, Babinda Boulders! Located 60 kilometres south of Cairns and tucked away in the rainforest is where you'll find this hidden treasure. Babinda Boulders is a creek and swimming lagoon filled with large granite boulders (hence the name). Your guides will run you through the Indigenous history of the destination where you'll learn about a tragic yet captivating love story that brings the area to life!

Josephine Falls

Next up we hit the Waterfall Circuit and visit Josephine Falls. Take a stroll through the luscious rainforest to reach the falls. Slide down the natural waterslide and dip into the cool, refreshing water below. Take in the peaceful surroundings and listen to the flowing of the water while you relax in the serene rainforest. Josephine Falls makes for a stunning photo backdrop so be sure to snap plenty of photos!

Millaa Millaa Falls

Jump back on the coach and head to the next waterfall, Millaa Millaa. Millaa Millaa is one of the most photographed waterfalls near Cairns and you'll discover why. The cascading waterfall is a breathtaking 18 metres tall and is nestled within a natural amphitheatre. After soaking in the beauty of Millaa Millaa, you'll have a break in sight-seeing and head to the pub for lunch. Enjoy an authentic Aussie meal at the Malander Pub, before hitting the next destination.

Curtain Fig Tree

Curtain Fig Tree is an astonishing 50 metre tall tree with roots that drop 15 metres to the forest floor. Take the boardwalk which winds through the rainforest to reach the popular tree. A fun fact is that this tree has been alive for hundreds and hundreds of years and its roots became intertwined with other trees, forming one large chaotic tree! Your guides will give you more details about the tree's rich history.

Lake Eacham

The last stop of the day is a dormant volcanic crater lake nestled within the Atherton Tablelands. Lake Eacham is popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Have your final swim of the day in the lake, keep a lookout for native wildlife (especially platypus), and relax in the shady picnic areas. Watch the sun set over the lake before hopping back on the coach and making the return journey to Cairns.

Would 100% recommend doing waterfall wanderers! Amazing sights and an overall fun activity to do for the day! My partner and I absolutely loved this tour. Our tour guide John was amazing and made the trip even better! He was very friendly, happy, funny, and gave us all plenty of information throughout the tour and cracked plenty of jokes. Really genuinely seemed like he loved his job, kudos to John.

A great tour to add to your FNQ trip! Our guide was Lizzy and she was fantastic - she was very knowledgeable and funny and kept us amused with her dad jokes all through the day. The waterfalls were beautiful and the trip didn't feel rushed at all (unlike others we did with other tour operators). Would recommend this trip to young and old alike.

Great tour, covered a lot within the day. Tour guide Carlos was very professional and well knowledged. Catering for all ages and abilities to ensure everyone had a great day. Highlight: seeing a Platypus. Made my day with the help of Carlos, to do the rock slide at Josephine falls, felt like a kid !!

The waterfalls were stunning, of course (we especially loved the rock slide at Josephine falls!), but our tour guide Steph really made the trip! She was just so amazing -- very knowledgeable and made the entire tour including the bus ride so much fun.
