FAQs

What sort of boat will we be going on?

This tour takes you out on Moonraker, a 21-metre vessel that is licensed for 80 people on board but takes a maximum of 30 swimmers and a few extra sightseers per trip.

There are two levels to Moonraker with plenty of space to sit out and relax. On board you'll find facilities like bathrooms, a walk-in water entry, a sun deck, and a cafe.

What size wetsuits are available?

This tour offers wetsuits in all sizes for both adults and children.

Children's wetsuits start at size 4 and go up to an adult 5XL.

Fins / flippers are also available up to an adult size 14.

I wear glasses - will I be able to see underwater?

Yes! There are two different options for guests who wear glasses.

They can either wear contact lenses and a regular snorkel mask, or borrow an optical mask from oboard the boat. Just ask a crew member when you get onboard.

Can I join this tour if I can't swim?

If you can't swim, you can't take part in the swimming with seals experience. This tour requires basic swimming skills for safety.

All snorkelling and swimming activities will have qualified experienced guides and instructors, both in the water, and on the boat assisting guests.

I'm worried about getting seasick

The Moonraker boat is purpose built to be stable in all conditions. It's rare that guests encounter seasickness on board but treatment is available on board if guests are feeling unwell.

All tours take place inside Port Phillip Bay and away from the open ocean's waves and swells.

Could we encounter sharks on this tour?

This tour takes place in Port Phillip Bay, which is a very shallow body of water.

At certain times of the year and if the water is cloudy, crew members use an electronic device called Shark Shield. This provides guests with complete protection and peace of mind, leaving you to enjoy the experience and focus on fun.
