Skydiving is one of the most adrenaline-ridden activities you can do in life, and is on almost everyone’s bucket list! The idea of skydiving might make your palms sweat or it might bring out your inner daredevil, either or, it's guaranteed to be an activity you’ll remember forever!

Whether you’re a first-timer or have done it before, the following skydive destinations offer some of the most surreal views of Australia’s golden coastlines. Here is where you can skydive on the East Coast of Australia.

Sydney (Wollongong)

If you're looking to skydive in Sydney, there are two locations to choose from; Wollongong and Newcastle (see below)! Located one hour south of Sydney is where you can find the vibrant city of Wollongong. If you want to fulfil your adrenaline-junkie skydive dreams of landing on a beach, then Skydive Wollongong is the closest place to Sydney where you can do so. Jump from up to 15,000 feet where you can soak in the city views from above and land on Wollongong’s North Beach. Why not chase that adrenaline with a trip to the popular North Gong pub?

Sydney (Newcastle) 

On the other side of Sydney is Newcastle, located only an hour and a half north. Newcastle is a city known for its feel-good beachy atmosphere. The city is teeming with history as it’s the second oldest city in Australia. Visit Skydive Newcastle where you can leap out of a moving plane (crazy, right?!) and take in the sprawling views of Lake Macquarie and the region of Newcastle. Depending on the weather on the day, you might even be able to land on the sand!

Moruya Heads

Moruya is a small town located on the NSW South Coast (4 hours south of Sydney to be precise). The town is surrounded by pristine beaches, gorgeous rivers, quaint cafes and an abundance of native wildlife. Not only is the area stunning to visit and explore by foot, it's even more beautiful to see from the sky! Skydive Oz is who you MUST pay a visit to during your time on the South Coast. Jump from 15,000 feet, take in the views of the Eurobodalla Shire's turquoise blue coastline and even opt for a beach landing. Byron Bay

If you’re travelling along the East Coast of Australia, there’s no doubt that you’ll be stopping in Byron Bay. Byron is a surfy, chic town found 2 hours south of Brisbane and is a hotspot for travellers. The main street sits parallel to the beach and is teeming with cute boutiques, casual bars and trendy cafes. Byron is the perfect place to skydive if you’re a little anxious! The energy of the town is so laid-back that I’m sure you’ll be able to settle your nerves just by meeting the down-to-earth locals and soaking up the calm vibes the town radiates.

Surfers Paradise 

Seize the day during your time in Surfers Paradise on Queensland’s beloved Gold Coast with a skydive! Unofficially titled the ‘Las Vegas’ of Australia, Surfers Paradise is the place to go if you want to let your hair down, party the night away or do things you wouldn’t normally do in your day-to-day life… like skydiving! Jump from 10,000 feet over the skyscraper-filled city and absorb the golden coastline and panoramic views below.

Noosa

Noosa is a luxurious holiday destination located on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and is a must-see along Australia’s East Coast. If you’re in Noosa we recommend you try out surfing, pop over to Fraser Island, go shopping along the popular Hastings Street… and you guessed it, try out skydiving! Like most of Australia’s coastline, the views from above are incredible. However, there is something magical about seeing Noosa from above which we can’t describe in words… you’ll have to see it for yourself!

Airlie Beach

If island views and pristine blue waters are what you’re seeking, then Airlie Beach has it all. Airlie Beach is located within the Whitsundays which is home to 74 tropical islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Not only are there plenty of fun boat-related activities to do in Airlie Beach, there is also plenty to see from the sky! A skydive over Airlie Beach could arguably be the most stunning place to skydive in the world. Offering panoramic views of the Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands, just as good as any scenic flight, you can hit two birds with one stone when you leap out of the sky above the town!

Mission Beach

Situated between Airlie Beach and Cairns is where you’ll find this palm tree paradise, also known as Mission Beach! The town is the definition of relaxed. With a glorious coastline lined with hundreds and hundreds of coconut-filled palms, you’ll want to set yourself up a hammock and never leave! However, that’s not what we are here to talk about, is it?! We’re here to convince you to step outside of your relaxation bubble and try something wild! Jump from 15,000 feet over the Cassowary Coast and see Mission Beach from the sky. Once it’s over, then you can go back to that hammock lifestyle because, well, you’ve earned it!

Cairns

Our final stop on this skydive journey is the city of Cairns! Famous for two things - being home to both the Great Barrier Reef and the oldest living tropical rainforest, the Daintree Rainforest. These two iconic and heritage-listed destinations are breathtaking and seeing both from above (at the same time) is definitely something to add to your bucket list. You'll be overwhelmed by the breathtaking views and you might love it so much that you'll want to do it all over again!
