If you’re looking for an exceptional bus service to get you from A to B during your East Coast Tour, look no further than Greyhound Australia or Premier Motor Service. They are the two main bus service providers along the East Coast. Each coach has varying timetables, different ticket options and unique features to suit your needs and ensure your time spent travelling Australia's East Coast is as comfortable and worry-free as possible! And with so many great bus options in Australia, you really don't need a car to get around!
Greyhound’s timetable is flexible which is appealing to most customers. Most of the buses are fitted with USB charging ports and WiFi which is very much needed when you’re on the road so you can continue watching Netflix, listening to tunes and researching your next destination. The seats are even reclining - hello maximum comfort?! Greyhound also offers a Hop-On, Hop-Off pass where you can travel non-stop from one destination to the next (if heading in the same direction only). The pass is only valid for three months, but that’s still plenty of time to see as much of Australia as possible!
The service also offers another type of pass called the WHIMit. This is the ultimate travel pass where you can choose any route and go in any direction for however long you like. The pass ranges from 7 days to an entire year. This means you get the freedom to go as far as you like, see as many sights and be as adventurous as you want!
Premier is usually cheaper than Greyhound and only offers one service in each direction per day. However, the bus service is just as comfortable as it’s fitted with air-conditioning, panoramic windows, onboard entertainment, and washroom facilities. Premier offers a Direct Travel Pass which is ideal for shorter routes where you just want to get from A to B as quickly as possible.
The service does also offer a Hop-On, Hop-Off pass which you can book within 3 to 6 months of travelling in one direction. Like Greyhound, it’s ideal if you’re not in a rush and want to take your time travelling up or down the East Coast.

So, If you want to spend the least amount of money to get from A to B, and you’re flexible to work around the one departure time per day, Premier's Direct Travel pass is probably your best option.
However, if you’re happy to generally pay a little extra and travel in maximum comfort with the flexibility to make multiple stops and take your pick of departure times, choose Greyhound.
