This epic snorkelling tour of Julian Rocks departs from Brunswick Heads Boat Harbour. It's just a 15-minute drive north of Byron Bay. Here you'll meet your friendly marine naturalist guides and board the 12-seat, rigid inflatable boat that is perfect for exploring the wildlife-rich waters of the marine sanctuary. When it's time for departure, you'll cruise out to Julian Rocks, located just 2.5 km off from Main Beach in Byron Bay near the most easterly point of mainland Australia!

Your snorkel adventure takes place at Julian Rocks Marine Sanctuary, a fascinating underwater oasis of marine life activity. It's often considered one of the best dive sites in Australia, and the entire world! Julian Rocks Marine Sanctuary has the highest level of protection, meaning the natural world here is largely undisturbed. Its unique location in northern NSW allows for the convergence of warm, tropical currents and cooler currents, making for a thriving ecosystem that supports a huge variety of sea creatures. Julian Rocks is also a sacred Aboriginal site, and its traditional name is Nguthungulli, meaning "Father of the World".

Snorkel with a vast array of marine life

You'll have around 2.5 hours to snorkel at Julian Rocks Marine Sanctuary. The expert marine guides will be in the water with you, pointing out sea life and teaching you about the various species you encounter. Some sea creatures that you might see include sea turtles, dolphins, leopard sharks, grey nurse sharks, manta rays, and eagle rays, all of which often frolic around the pristine waters of Julian Rocks. There are also over 500 species of fish in the area! Professional underwater photographers will help capture the experience so you can relive the magic of this phenomenal snorkelling later on.
